How long can I keep items borrowed from the Edwardsville Public Library?
Books- three weeks with 2 renewals unless there is a hold on the item
DVDs- one week for DVDs under five hours running time, three weeks for over 5 hour multipart DVDs
Magazines- three weeks with 2 renewals
Reference materials-do not circulate
How much are overdue fines and fees for lost damaged items?
Fines are $.10 per day
Lost/Damages materials- item cost + $1.00 processing fee
Missing audio CD- $12.00
Interlibrary Loans
How do I borrow an item that is not in the catalog?
Items that are not in the catalog may be requested by patrons with an Edwardsville library card through the Reference Department. You can also enter your request through the Worldcat database found on the Library’s website. This process usually take 10 to 14 days.
Online Home Access
Can I access my account and renew books from home?
You may renew items by calling the Library at 692-7556 or by accessing your account from home by using the online catalog at http://webcat.lcls.org/.
To login you will need your library card number and PIN. This allows you to request items in the catalog and renew items that qualify.
What is a PIN
A PIN is your 4 digit personal identification number used to verify your Library card number for online access. Call the Library to obtain a PIN at 692-7556.
What kind of Library information can I access from home? For a list of research databases available from your home with an Edwardsville library card, go to our research page. Please note databases with an asterick can only be accessed from within the Library.
Do you offer downloadable ebooks and audiobooks?
Audiobooks and eBooks are available from Overdrive at Library2go.You will need your Edwardsville library card number and PIN to login. One Clickdigital offers more downloadable audiobooks, from RecordedBooks.
Computers at the Library
Can I use a computer and get on the Internet at the Library?
The Library has two computer labs for public use. You do not need a Library card to use a computer. Sign up stations are located at both circulation desks.
There is a 2 hour limit per day per person for computer use.
There are also laptop computers you can check out for in house use at the Library. An Edwardsville library card and photo ID are required to use these computers. Printing is available for $.10 per B& W page, $.25 for color. Does the Library have WiFi?
You can access the Internet through our in house WiFi service.

Yes. All events can be accessed through our calendar on the webpage.

When are storytimes?
Regular storytimes and programs are listed on the Newsletter and daily events are on the calendar.
Services
Does the Library have public meeting rooms?
The library has two meeting rooms; one, the public meeting room (capacity 80), and two, the Conference Room (capacity 12). Meeting room rules and an application form can be found on our website.
Can I send or receive a fax from the Library?
Yes. The cost is $1.00 per page with a maximum fee of $5.00.
Does the Library offer photocopying?
There is a public photocopier. The fee is $.15 per page. Ask at the circulation desk for color copies. The fee is $.50 per page.
Do you have a notary public at the Library? Yes. Please call the Library for more information.
Does the Library have tax forms?
During Tax season, the Library has selected Federal and Illinois tax forms. Many forms are also available on line and can be printed from the public computers for $.10 per page.
Donations and Memorials
Does the Library accept used book donations?
Yes. Please be aware that donated items must meet the same criteria as purchased items. Items not included in our collection may be placed in the Carnegie’s Books sale.
Does the Library take donations for memorials or dedications?
Requests for book memorials are honored. A book plate is placed in the front of every dedicated item. For more information, or to donate a book for a memorial or dedication, please contact the library.
