Regency Romances For Spring

As the weather warms up and the sunshine appears, I always feel like it's time to mix up the genres I've been reading all winter. To me, no genre feels more Spring-y than Regency Romances. From the elegant balls and dresses to the witty banter and promenades around the park, there's something so vibrant about Regency romances that they call out to be read in the springtime.

The Regency Era took place in England from 1795 to 1837. In modern times, it's viewed as a time of elegance and refinement, likely due to the excessive wealth possessed by the noble class at the time. The Industrial Revolution, paired with increased wealth, led to the rise of elaborate fashion and architecture. Along with the strict social customs around courting and marriage, it makes a lush and interesting setting for romance.

Whether you're well acquainted with the Regency romance genre or you're just looking to dip your toes in, I've compiled a list of novels that would be perfect to pick up and read outside on a beautiful spring day!

A Lady Would Know Better

Earl Jasper Maycott is grimly going through the motions of maintaining his household and lands while still grieving the loss of his fiance and much of his family to scarlet fever. "Jane" finds herself developing feelings for him too, even if she knows that a lady would know better.
