I started at the library in August 2024.
Earliest memory of being in a library?
My earliest memories of libraries are my Mom signing me up for summer reading programs and browsing the shelves of the Glen Carbon library with my Grandpa.
Favorite book genre/favorite book/favorite author
I like to read a little bit of everything, but my go to genres are fantasy and romance. Some of my favorite authors are Brent Weeks, Brandon Sanderson, Emily Henry, and Ali Hazelwood.
Would you rather only be able to whisper or only able to shout?
I’d rather only be able to whisper.
What is your favorite aspect of working at the library?
I enjoy getting to talk to patrons about what books and movies they’re liking, and getting to know the people I see regularly. I also like seeing what books are traveling in and out of the library; learning what’s popular and finding books I’ve never heard of before.
What’s your favorite word?
I like words that feel a little fancy, and evoke a clear feeling or sensation. I think my favorite word currently is sumptuous.
How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
I spend a lot of time reading, especially listening to audiobooks. I also love going to the movie theater and having movie nights at home.
Would you rather talk like Yoda or breathe like Darth Vader for the rest of your life?
I’d rather talk like Yoda.
