Earliest memory of being in a library?
I was walking around my hometown library when I was super young. I remember feeling like everything around me was so big.
Favorite book genre/favorite book/favorite author
Lately I have really been enjoying cozy slice of life novels like The Second Chance Convenience Store by Kim Ho-Yeon, and dystopian fiction like I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman.
What’s your favorite word?
Sonder: The realization and understanding that all other people have lives as complex as one's own.
Would you rather only be able to whisper or only able to shout?
Only whisper! My voice is very quiet, so I'm sure people wouldn't be able to tell much of a difference.
What is your favorite aspect of working at the library?
I love knowing that every day I am helping someone with something they may have been stressed or excited about. Whether it's something as simple as printing, as exciting as finding the book they've been waiting for, or being able to point them in a direction that can help them get their problem solved.
How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
I love painting, playing video games, and lifting weights!
Would you rather talk like Yoda or breathe like Darth Vader for the rest of your life?
Ooooo mmmm. I think breathe like Darth Vader.
Why should people visit the library?
There are so many reasons! It's a place you can simply exist without the pressure of spending money. We also have more than books! Video games, movies, vinyl records, and record players... etc :) There are also so many programs that everyone puts so much thought and time into. It's a wonderful opportunity for community. :)
