How long have you worked at the library?

I’ve worked at the library since October.

How many items do you have checked out right now?

I only have one item checked out right now.

How many items are on your hold list?

None. I tend to read one book and focus on finishing it before I move on to another. So I usually don’t have a very long holds list as I am afraid a book will come in before I am ready to read it.

What is your favorite book format (book, audio, mp3, e-reader, etc.)?

I really prefer old fashioned physical books, but audiobooks are nice as well as I can listen while I drive.

What is your favorite aspect of working at the library?

Getting to walk around the collection and shelving books. You discover so many interesting books that you might never notice otherwise.

What is your guilty reading (or listening) pleasure?

Manga. I enjoy reading Japanese comics, but a lot of them are just so ridiculous in their plots, details, and actions. I love it.

1984
What books do you feel guilty for not having read?

1984 by George Orwell

Have your reading habits changed since working at the library? If so, how?

I definitely read more now because I feel guilty about not reading enough and working at the library.

What is your perfect reading environment?

A quiet space, comfortable chair, and a cup of coffee to drink.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what single genre of books would you want with you?

I would probably have to pick science fiction. Not only is it my favorite genre, but there is also a lot of diversity within it. I would always be able to find something different if I started getting bored of one type of book.

Before you worked here, what was your worst library transgression?

I’m a rule follower, so the worst I ever did was keep a book past its due date and usually that was unintentional.
