Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

DPIL Social Media Promo 1
Inspire a Love of Reading

The Imagination Library is a book gifting program designed to inspire a love of reading in young children, from birth to age 5. The program sends high-quality, age-appropriate books directly to children’s homes each month—at no cost to families—helping to build their home libraries and encourage early literacy.

How It Works

To enroll in the Imagination Library, children must live in a community that sponsors the program. Once enrolled, they will receive a carefully selected book each month, delivered straight to their home. This direct delivery creates excitement and a personal connection to reading. As Dolly Parton famously says, “If books make a child feel special, then the child will feel books are special.”

  • Does your child live in Madison County, IL?
  • Are they Age 0-5 years old?
  • If you answered yes to both, then they are eligible to enroll!

Please be aware that turnaround for receiving the first book tends to be about 6-8 weeks from registration.
