The JewelRide Books for Bikes Reading Challenge will run from March 1 - April 30th, 2024.

How the Challenge Works
  1. Children in K-8th Grade are eligible to participate in this challenge.
  2. Begin reading and logging books on March 1. You will be able to participate online with Beanstack or with a paper reading log available at the library.
  3. For each book you read, you will receive an entry into the raffle for a free bike. 15 bikes will be awarded! Participants are not eligible to win more than one bike.
  4. You can earn up to 20 entries for the drawing.
  5. The Challenge ends on April 30, and all reading must be logged and turned in to the library by 8pm on this day.
  6. There will be a public raffle drawing at the library for the free bikes on Saturday, May 4 at 10am. Attendance is not required to win.
Getting Started on Beanstack

Beanstack Account

  • Visit our Beanstack website. Click the "register" button if you need to create an account, or click the "sign in" button to access your existing account.
  • Alternatively, use the Beanstack Tracker App on your phone or other mobile devices (apple | android) to create, sign in, and manage your account.
  • Within one account, you can set up and manage reader profiles for all of your family members!
  • Choose the Books for Bikes Challenge to enroll.
  • Once you read a book and log it into your Beanstack account, you will see your badge appear in color.
  • Each badge that you earn will automatically enter your name into the bike drawing, up to 20 entries.
Using a Paper Reading Log

Paper reading logs are also available at the Youth Circulation Desk.

  • If you would prefer to participate with paper logs than online, you can ask for one at the Youth Desk
  • Read books and then write the title and author on your log. Your first log will have space to log 10 books that you read.
  • Once you are ready to return your reading log, bring it to the Youth Desk at the library to guarantee entry into the bike drawings.
  • If you complete the first reading log, there is an additional log you can use to keep reading 10 more books, for a total of 20 entries!
  • You do not have to complete the entire reading log to turn it in. Each book you read gets you an entry into the drawings.
  • All reading logs must be turned in to the library by April 30th at 8pm to qualify.

Only books read between March 1 & April 30, 2024 count toward the challenge.
