The Level Up at Your Library Reading Challenge will run from May 28th-July 31st, 2025.
This page is primarily for Teens (Ages 12-17). We also offer a Children's (Ages 0-11) Summer Reading Challenge, as well as an Adult Summer Reading Challenge.
Plant a Seed, Read is rooted in the concept of farm to table. A farm grows food that nourishes our bodies; a library grows ideas that nourish our minds. Both food and stories connect us to our family, culture, economy, and ecology. This summer, we invite you to imagine the library as a community table where, instead of food, we feast on ideas! What will you grow with the seeds you plant?

How the Challenge Works
- Starting May 28th, you can begin logging your reading, either online with Beanstack or with a paper reading log. See instructions below for information on these options.
- Your Challenge is to read for at least 30 minutes a day for 30 days. The 30 days do not have to be in a row, and the 30 minutes can be broken up into smaller sessions during the day. For example, read 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes before bed.
- Log the days you read on Beanstack and see your badges appear in color, or mark off a circle on your paper game board as you progress.
- For every 6 days worth of reading for at least 30 minutes, you earn a reward! You can either redeem your rewards at the Youth Desk as you earn them one at a time or all at once when you finish the whole challenge.
- Once you complete 30 days of reading, visit the Youth Desk to pick up your Free Book and enter your name in the Grand Prize Drawing!
- You can keep reading & logging on Beanstack or request an additional paper log at the Youth Desk to keep up the fun throughout the Summer.
- All reading & activities must be logged on Beanstack by July 31 to be eligible for prizes and entries!

Grand Prize Drawing
- The Grand Prize is a Prize Basket worth $100!
- $25 gift cards will also be given away as runner-up prizes.
- The Drawing will take place in August and all winners will be notified by phone.
