Rules We're Meant to Break
by Natalie Williamson

Release Date: June 11, 2019
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Kaylee's Review:
A sweet YA Romance. Deals with the topics of divorce and remarriage from the vantage of a teenage daughter who's been burned by her mother's past relationships too many times. Nothing spectacular, but if you're looking for a light read with a happy ending, it hits the spot.

Recursion
by Blake Crouch

Release Date: June 11, 2019
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Katherine's Review:
This book will take you on a wild ride! It is full of twists and turns - the perfect blend of science fiction and thriller. I was a bit hesitant to pick this book up as I really enjoyed "Dark Matter" and was worried that "Recursion" wouldn't hold up to my expectations, but I'm glad that I decided to take a chance on it. The story line did bog down a bit in the middle for me, but I'm glad that I stuck with it.

Call It What You Want
by Brigid Kemmerer

Release Date: June 25, 2019
Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Kaylee's Review:
I didn't dislike this book, but it didn't live up to my expectations based on her other contemporary books. While it touched on a number of important topics and I enjoyed having multiple views of the same or similar issues, I didn't find myself relating to the characters or even liking them very much.

Home for Erring and Outcast Girls
by Julie Kibler

Release Date: July 23, 2019
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Dawn's Review:
This is a dual timeline historical fiction story. I liked both timelines, which is a rarity. It does have some hard subject matter but I felt it was done tactfully. I felt I learned something about a time in history I was unfamiliar with. I liked the writing and story telling.

The Words Between Us
by Erin Bartels

Release Date: September 3, 2019
Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Cary's Review:
This book pulled me in from the beginning. I like a story that straddles dual time, and Bartels does those transitions really well. As the story unfolds, you begin to understand why the main character, Robin, a book store owner in Michigan, is in such a complex and secret situation. Her infamous family past – the past she has tried so hard to escape – is knocking on her door. Books become characters in this story. Words, for Robin, are a solace and escape, but they also hold evocative power over her past and future.

Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs?
by Caitlin Doughty

Release Date: September 10, 2019
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Sam O.'s Review:
It's a book composed of questions about death that the author, a mortician, has been asked by children over the years. Each answer that she gives is its own chapter, and I think it's fun to not only see what questions their brains came up with, but to also explore the answers with her. It quenches curiosities that I didn't know I had and is overall a very interesting read.
