Get Involved at the Library

Blog Contributor

Would you like to share reviews of books you’ve read and/or movies you’ve watched? We would love your contributions to our Blog. Your involvement could be writing up a few sentences about a book/DVD or a full post giving book/DVD suggestions, an author/illustrator spotlight, or an idea of your own. If you're interested, or would like more information, send an email to Katherine (katheriner@edwpl.org).

Guest Presenter

Programs and presentations at the library are great opportunities for members of our community to share their expertise and experiences with an audience. Historical researchers, world travelers, home gardeners, and many more have shared their stories in our large community room. If you think your research or experience would benefit the community we’d love to have a conversation with you. Please call us (618) 692-7556, ext. 6 so we can discuss your idea.

Join the Edwardsville Library Friends

The Edwardsville Library Friends (ELFs) are people who know the value of books and information. They understand the importance of reading, lifetime learning, and personal growth, and they are dedicated to providing whatever is required to keep the Edwardsville Library up to date and well-equipped to meet the diverse needs of its many patrons.

One of the ELFs’ main projects is the operation of Carnegie's, the used book and gift shop across from the Library's circulation desk. ELFs are involved in every aspect of Carnegie's, including staffing the counter, sorting book donations, and scheduling volunteers. Money raised through ELF projects help fund a wide variety of items and projects, such as special entertainment for the annual summer reading program.

If you are interested in volunteering with the Edwardsville Library Friends, please call (618) 692-7556 ext. 8.
